Government District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Vomaravalli is located on the sea shore of Bay of Bengal near Kalingapatnam in Srikakulam District. As a basic training school it was established in 1952 at Vomaravalli in Srikakulam district. It plays a vital role for Pre-service and In-service teacher education in the district. The Basic training school was upgraded as Teacher Training Institute in 1975. It was upgraded as DIET by the A.P. State Government in 1990 .
